commitment is agreed at the outset.

Development of individual listening and diagnostic skills
Time for problem solving which gives the opportunity for personal learning and
development and insight into how others achieve different solutions
A confidential environment to explore strengths and weaknesses
A group of people who are, for periods of time, mentors for each other
Learn to challenge assumptions and deepen fundamental understanding of what might be done differently

What happens at each meeting
Every set member reports briefly on what has been happening to them
Set members decide who is going to present a particular situation which they currently face.
The presenter describes their situation / problem / challenge.
The set members ask questions designed to assist the presenter come to a deeper or different understanding and so to be open to new solutions attitudes and behaviour changes.
The other set members do not give advice, tell anecdotes, pass judgement or talk about how it compares to their own situation.

At a future set meeting, the presenter reports on action taken.

Anita Belli Biography
Writer, writing coach and Action Learning Facilitator
I trained as an Action Learning Facilitator during my role as a Creative
Director with the Creative Partnerships Programme. Being a member of a ‘set’
enabled me to experience the value of this method of Professional Development
and by training as a Facilitator, I was able to further develop the listening, analysis, focus and reflection skills which are so much a part of our daily work in Arts Management.
What I bring uniquely is a focus on Creativity for personal and professional development as well as Coaching skills.

I have enjoyed an (almost) 30 year career supporting and enabling artists to develop and work in the Arts.  Following my first degree in Drama at Hull University’s Gulbenkian Theatre, I trained as a Dancer at The Place and subsequently at the London International Film School which led me to develop the first Dance For Camera Masters Degree in Europe at The Place, working closely with the BBC,  Arts Council and The British Council to develop film training for choreographers to ensure that Dance had a lively presence on our screens.  (Or in the 90’s, any presence at all.)

I won awards as a filmmaker and writer and subsequently became Director of Signals Media in Colchester and then Creative Partnerships; with the aim to give all young people the opportunity to develop their best self through creative learning.

Since Creative Partnerships, I took a mid life gap year to focus on my own creative practice, which has, over the years, always returned to writing.  I have been writing since I was at primary school and the Manchester Evening News published my stories and poems on its children’s page. I am now a certified compulsive writer and developing programmes to support other people into addiction, especially around their third age.
