Summer 2016
(with HF16 - funded by Arts Council England)
‘Your Story’ is your best legacy to your family and they will want you to do it. Capture those stories and hold them in trust for future generations.
You will develop your story with a group of people who will become your supporters and friends and leave another legacy of a shared experience.
You will learn how to use narrative fiction techniques to tell a compelling story of your life which people will want to read.
We will explore the characters and events in your book; the plot twists and the forks in the road; the pace, structure and 'voice' of your story. We will ask questions and explore:
What else happened? What more can you say? Who else did you know, meet (sub plots and secondary characters). How can we weave these into your tale in order to add depth and intrigue? What are the hooks? What questions do you want to leave dangling to intrigue the reader and keep them reading?
It is your story in your voice; how do you sound on paper and how can we communicate that better? (style)
You will add depth and intrigue to your story and develop a unique voice
WARNING!
