Two New Programmes
These workshops are part of The Library Press Project
managed by Stellar Libraries and delivered by Spread the Word
Using word prompts, images and games we will explore what stories are, how they are made and what makes them compelling. You will be encouraged to develop your own unique voice through writing exercises which you can use to stimulate further writing.
Whether you just want to have a go at writing, are compelled to write just for yourself, or want to be a writer, this workshop will stimulate the creative flow, kick-start the blocked writer and provide techniques to keep writing.
This workshop will explore character, place and theme in more depth in order to develop compelling fiction. Writing exercises will encourage you to bring your prose alive by using all of the senses, observing the world around you and finding ideas in everyday places.
We will explore how links, connections and ironies can create fascinating and original fiction, grown from small seeds and nurtured by the unexpected.
Whether you write prose, poetry or simply write about your own life, this workshop will add vitality to your voice and challenge your imagination.
